An Exploratory Study of the Influence of Personal and Environmental Variables on the Job Satisfaction of Mid-Level Public Leisure Service Managers
Abstract
dc:descriptionAlthough job satisfaction is one of the most studied factors in organizations today, research in the public sector, especially leisure service, is lacking. The relationship between Holland's theory of person-environment congruence and the job satisfaction of mid-level public leisure service managers is described. Additional personal and environmental variables, specifically Hackman and Oldham's job characteristics theory, Newman's perceived work environment measure, and individual and agency characteristics, are applied to the prediction of job satisfaction.
