Expression and inheritance of resistance to Fusarium solani in soybean
Abstract
dc:descriptionSudden death syndrome (SDS) of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) is caused by the soil borne fungus Fusarium solani (Mart.) Appel & Wollenw. emend. Snyd. & Hans. Symptoms of SDS include root rot, xylem discoloration, foliar chlorosis and interveinal necrosis. Microplot, field and greenhouse experiments were performed to study the development of SDS on soybean, develop a greenhouse inoculation method for F. solani, then study the relationship between the greenhouse and field reactions, and study the inheritance of resistance to F. solani.
