The microplot study also demonstrated that cultivars artificially inoculated with F. solani developed disease symptoms similar to that of plants growing in soil naturally infested with F. solani.","A greenhouse technique was developed to inoculate soybean seedlings with F. solani. Disease scores for greenhouse inoculated seedlings were highly related to field scores. In a cross between two cultivars classified as resistant and susceptible respectively to F. solani, the greenhouse inoculation technique was used to study the inheritance of resistance to F. solani.
