The use of telecollaboration with peer learning models for hearing second language learners of American Sign Language

The effects of peer learning models on hearing students learning a visual modality such as American Sign Language as a second language are largely unknown. This mixed methods exploratory case study will involve collecting data from American Sign Language teachers and their hearing American Sign Language second language learners to learn about their experiences using the peer learning model in the form of telecollaboration in class. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects, experiences, and challenges of utilizing a peer learning model via telecollaboration. Study findings will aid instructors in the field of teaching ASL from high school to university settings.
