Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe Mood Detection in IGT Gaming Machines System is a piece of software that takes facial inputs in the form of image data and sorts those inputs into a set of moods, all in a manner that allows it to be integrated into gaming machines built by International Game Technology (IGT). To expand on the level of interaction that is had with the player, mood-detection has been implemented to obtain data about their mood in realtime. This provides information that can be used to enhance the player experience. This project aims to provide features of mood detection that will enable both real-time adjustments to a player's gaming experience and options for offline data analytics. The motivation behind integrating mood-detection into gaming machines is to allow those at IGT to analyze what makes a game interesting and add a new layer of interaction between the player and machine, increasing both player enjoyment and player retention.
