Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 Regulation and Subunit Composition of Low-Voltage Activated Calcium Channels in Atrial Myocytes

To test whether the LVA Ca$\sp{2+}$ channel contains β subunit, I studied the ability of an AS ON (\rmβ\sb{all}) targeting a common sequence of all four β subunits to modulate the LVA Ca$\sp{2+}$ current in atrial myocytes. Our data showed that LVA Ca$\sp{2+}$ channels were inhibited by AS-\rmβ\sb{all}. These results support the idea that atrial T-type calcium channel is encoded by a member of the \rmα\sb{1E} calcium channel genes and is composed of at least the \rmα\sb{1E} and β subunits.
