The Mechanism of Chemoprotection by 1-Cyano-2-Hydroxy-3-Butene, a Natural Component of Cruciferous Vegetables
Abstract
dc:descriptionIn a final study, CHB was found to mediate a monofunctional DNA-directed increase in GST subunit Ya$\sb2,$ Yc$\sb2$ and QR mRNA levels, without a concomitant increase in mRNA levels of CYP 1A. This suggests that, in the previous study, the protection afforded against aflatoxin-induced carcinogenesis was through a monofunctional increase in phase II enzymes, particularly, the GST subunit Yc$\sb2.$ (Abstract shortened by UMI.).
