Charge Transfer Cross-Sections for Nitrogen(v) and Sulfur(iii) Ions Interacting With Hydrogen Atoms in Astrophysical Plasmas
Abstract
dc:descriptionIn the past decade, the important role of charge exchange in astrophysical plasmas has become firmly established following the initial work of Williams (1973), Steigman (1975) and others. However for multiply charged ions of astrophysical importance, reliable experimental values for the reactive cross sections involving neutral hydrogen and helium are not generally available. In the absence of such values, one must rely on theoretical calculations of the relevant reaction rates.
