Etude Des Modalites De La Parole Dans Le Texte Stendhalien. (French Text)

Abstract

dc:description

Widely recognized characteristics of Stendhal's novels such as their musical, theatrical, and expressive qualities are shown to be partly attributable to an almost obsessive use of words describing modalities of speech, i.e. accent, tone, voice and other semantically related terms.
