Abstract

Language-based editors offer to the user a number of advantages which accrue from their cognizance of the edited language. Foremost among these are the advantages of manipulating and traversing the edited document in terms of the syntactic structures of the document. Also automatic formatting and error-detection capabilities are afforded to the user through syntax-directed editors.
