A Study of Adult Bilingual-Bicultural Programs of Post-Secondary Education for People of Limited English-Speaking Ability of Hispanic Background in the Chicago Area
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe objective of this study was to explore educational programs, if any, that would offer post-secondary bilingual-bicultural education to Hispanic adults in the city of Chicago. In order to gather the necessary background for the study, pertinent literature was researched from both fields, i.e., adult education and bilingual-bicultural education. The research approach to this study was exploratory in nature and was defined as "naturalistic research." Four research units were chosen and treated as four individual case-studies. The case-study approach was chosen since it offered the possibility for studying the processes and interactions as they occurred.
