Static and Dynamic Analysis of Axially Loaded Wire Ropes
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe object of this study is to investigate the static and dynamic behavior of axially loaded wire rope. The longitudinal, torsional, and transverse displacements are determined for a rope which is initially straight in the reference configuration and loaded by an axial force and twisting moment. The static response of wire rope is analyzed using a recently developed technique in which the individual wires in a rope are examined.
