Optogenetics, also often referred to as optobiology, has been rapidly evolving for the past decade. The approach uses light to control protein-protein interactions. Blessed by the precision and convenience of light manipulation, optogenetics empowers precise control of molecular activities at an unprecedented resolution in time and space. This work looks at how new tools can give us insights into dynamic and essential cell processes with light or nanotechnology.
