Design and analysis of a cryogenic, liquid hydrogen based cooling system for a fully-superconducting aircraft propulsion motor
Abstract
dc:descriptionThis thesis presents the design and modeling of a cooling system for a motor used for aircraft propulsion. The motivation behind this project lies in broader electric aircraft development efforts, and system requirements are presented as context for the research presented here. A design study is outlined, which includes a topology consideration and creation of an analytical thermal model. A design is presented with results of a thermal analysis showing the simulated performance of the design. Further work is also suggested.
