A Study of the Attitudes and Opinions of Parents and Teachers At the Elementary Level, Concerning the Effectiveness and Importance of Parent-Teacher Conferences

This study was conducted to determine the attitudes and opinions of parents and teachers at the elementary level, concerning the effectiveness and the importance of parent-teacher conferences in the elementary school. A questionnaire focusing on parent-teacher conferences was completed by 47 elementary teachers and 107 parents of elementary students. Results showed that parents and teachers believe that conferences are beneficial and that communication between parents and teachers affects the academic development, self-esteem, and self-growth of children.
