Overall Satisfaction With Dental Information Systems: an Investigation of Perceived Importance and User Satisfaction With Individual Functions

This study examined overall user satisfaction with dental information systems (DIS). Further, the perceived importance and user satisfaction with individual DIS functions was examined. The influence of sources of information on the selection of a DIS was also studied. This examination was based on responses from 297 U.S. dental practices which employ computerized DIS. Results of this study show that over two-thirds of users classify their overall DIS satisfaction as either good or excellent. The satisfaction and the perceived importance of individual functions were highly correlated. Finally, present users were determined to be the most influential source of information in DIS selection.
