Zinc enzyme model complexes with Ligands containing a N2S Donor Set and their methylating reactions
Abstract
dc:description.abstractA new tridentate and two new tripodal ligands containing a N2S donor set have
been prepared in this work. These and other four selected ligands together with
different thiolate co-ligands have been used for the syntheses of 47 new zinc
enzyme model complexes. These complexes have been characterized and compared
by IR and NMR spectroscopy, 14 of them with single crystal structure analysis.
9 of the mononuclear tetrahedral N2S2 coordinated zinc complexes have been
investigated for the stepwise methylating reactions using the methylating
reagent iodmethane and trimethylphosphate. The result of the reactions indicates
that zinc-bound thiolates react with those methylating reagents. The methyl
group transfer occurs like in the enzymatic processes.
