Integrative mathematical modelling of drug responses in breast cancer PDTXs and ex vivo PDTCs

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This thesis explores the integrative application of mathematical modelling and experimental approaches to investigate drug responses in breast cancer, utilising patient-derived tumour xenografts (PDTXs) and ex vivo PDTX-derived tumour cells (PDTCs). A robust biobank of over 100 PDTXs, encompassing diverse breast cancer subtypes, was expanded and genomically characterised. This collection captures the broad heterogeneity of breast cancer, facilitating pre-clinical studies into tumour biology and therapeutic efficacy.
