Investigando a concepção ensino-aprendizagem de química em uma escola da rede estadual: metodologias e dificuldades.

The implementation of methodological innovations in the teaching of natural sciences makes content more dynamic, enabling that the students can actively participate in their learning. From this perspective, the work aimed to study the development of Chemistry classes in the State School Ana Ribeiro, located at the city of Salgado de São Félix, from the students´and teacher´s point of view. The research was undertaken in two classes of the second and third year of high school. Questionnaires were administered to the students and the teacher, addressing the contents: Political Pedagogical Project, the textbook, the role of experimentation in Chemistry teaching, the new technologies and the students’ conceptions about the classes. The obtained results demonstrated that the way classes are being conducted is not efficient, since students feel unmotivated regarding this discipline. Furthermore, the lack of experimental classes has been another factor that contributes to the low achievements by students in Chemistry classes. The insertion of methodological innovations can be an important tool, however, the teacher must take into account the strategy that best suits the subject ministered; considering the difficulties that students have to understand the content covered.
