From this perspective, the work aimed to study the development of Chemistry classes in the State School Ana Ribeiro, located at the city of Salgado de São Félix, from the students´and teacher´s point of view. The research was undertaken in two classes of the second and third year of high school. Questionnaires were administered to the students and the teacher, addressing the contents: Political Pedagogical Project, the textbook, the role of experimentation in Chemistry teaching, the new technologies and the students’ conceptions about the classes. The obtained results demonstrated that the way classes are being conducted is not efficient, since students feel unmotivated regarding this discipline. Furthermore, the lack of experimental classes has been another factor that contributes to the low achievements by students in Chemistry classes.
