Synthese und Untersuchung heterocyclischer Anion-Rezeptoren

dc:descriptionAn area of continuing interest in supramolecular chemistry that continues to attract attention is the binding of anions. The rapid developments in this area are due to the many roles that anions play in biology, medicine, catalysis and the environment. In this thesis receptors based on quinoline, indole, carbazol and diazoaryl backbone series and bear an urea as well as amide moiety were synthesized, develop and investigated. Hydrogen-bonding is widely implemented for the construction of artificial receptors, and amido and ureido groups have frequently been incorporated for this purpose. The stoichiometry could be determined for halide and nitrate binding to be 1:1 by use of Jobs method of continuous variation (in CDCl3). Using 1H NMR, fluorescence and UV-vis measurements binding constants were obtained. They showed that the receptor-series based on quinoline is efficient and selective for fluoride recognition in chloroform. Variation of the substituents at the amide group as well as at the urea caused an enhancement in the acidity of the NH protons and an enhancement in the binding of fluoride anions in chloroform at room temperature (Ka = 150000 M–1). Due to the geometry and flexibility indole receptors can selectively bind in chloroform the bigger anion like chloride. Self-aggregation properties of the receptors could be observed by using 1H-NMR, fluorescence spectroscopy and FT-ICR mass spectrometry. To give us a deeper insight into the interaction between anions and receptors our studies are supported by computational and x-ray studies.
