Time for Contrast to Pass Through the Myocardium in Patients with Non-Obstructive Coronary Artery Disease // Време за преминаване на контраст през миокарда при пациенти с незначима коронарна болест

The thesis investigates a novel fluoroscopic method for assessing coronary microcirculation in patients with angina and non-obstructive coronary artery disease by determining the indexed time for contrast to pass through the myocardium (iTCPM). In a single-centre cross-sectional study, 102 patients were prospectively enrolled. Time for contrast to pass through the myocardium (TCPM) was measured using a standardised protocol with an automated injection system and subsequently indexed to myocardial mass, mean arterial pressure, and heart rate. The analysis demonstrated a normal distribution of iTCPM and a significant correlation between higher iTCPM values and more severe anginal symptoms, assessed by the CCS functional class and the Seattle Angina Questionnaire. The results indicate that iTCPM is an easily applicable, reproducible, and clinically informative angiographic index that reflects symptom severity in patients with angina and non-obstructive coronary artery disease and may support the diagnostic evaluation and stratification of this patient population.
