GENETIC ANALYSIS OF THE GLUCOCORTICOID PATHWAY IN THE SEVERE ASTHMA RESEARCH PROGRAM
Abstract
dc:description.abstractAsthma is a common lung disease affecting approximately 10% of the population in the United States. Approximately 10% of the individuals with asthma have a severe form of asthma that is inherently difficult to treat due to a poor response to treatment, namely inhaled corticosteroids (ICS). Understanding the molecular determinants that dictate steroid response would be a powerful tool in devising more effective treatment regiments for these individuals.
