In the final degree paper were analyzed the students with special needs having a lack of learning motivation. The aim of work - to explore the students with special needs having the lack of learning motivation. According to the teachers, most students with special needs are motivated to learn when: lessons are interesting, they experience success in learning, get a help from the teacher in the classroom and the method of teaching is suitable. It is explored, that the successful learning motivation encourages students: to achieve better results, to be more interested in learning, to increase engagement in the learning process and strengthens progressiveness. Studies have revealed that the lack of motivation usually asserts apathetically for learning, inadequate behavior in the classroom, learning problems and disruption for other students in the classroom. It turned out that, students learning motivation weakens due to educational failure, lack of self-sufficiency or tasks inadequacy. According to the teachers, the students with special needs can be motivated by incentive, good evaluation, recognition and success. Successful learning motivation can be: an encouragement, praise, smile, adequate assessment, help, attention and approval. Questionnaire analysis revealed that the students with the special needs are more motivated to learn due to the novelty of the lesson, school environment and experienced learning success. If they feel educational failure, as well as challenging lesson content and hostile classmates’ humor, it weakens their motivation very much. The research data allowed to identify that most respondents needs are orientated to their social life, their place among the other students, and others attitude to them. It turned out that most respondents are trying to learn because they don’t want to stand out from others and don’t want to feel losers and they seek for encouragement.
