Collaborative and Genre-Based Writing in the L2 Writing Classroom

<p>In the field of second language writing, L2 students should be empowered to express their personal voice in writing. Often, students are encouraged to adopt an academic voice, which discourages personal voice and often ignores prior knowledge. This field project intends to use collaborative writing and genre theory as a means of helping L2 writers strengthen their linguistic identity and empower them in the academy and beyond. </p>
