Purification and Characterization of 5'-Methylthioadenosine Nucleosidase From Avocado and Tomato
Abstract
dc:descriptionActivities of MTA nucleosidase and 5-methylthioribose kinase were determined in ripening 'Rutgers' and non-ripening ' rin' and 'nor' tomatoes during fruit development. The effects of wounding on MTA content and MTA nucleosidase activity were also assessed. Results suggested that the methionine salvage pathway in non-ripening mutant tomatoes was also active but at a reduced rate.
