In summary, changing the form of the wall material affects its flow impedance, and reducing the wall impedance increases near-wall temporal fluctuations due to the pressure fluctuations imposed on the wall. The evidence found in this investigation suggests that the temporal fluctuations at the wall are amplified strongly by the mean strain field, and result in enhanced turbulence downstream. Therefore, the details of the transpired wall boundary conditions are very important, and non-ideal boundary conditions can lead to substantial modification in the flow structure.
