Through the Lens of Interpreters: The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana in Its Classical Re -Presentations
Abstract
dc:descriptionAs an integral part of the Chinese Buddhist exegetical tradition, introductions in Qixinlun commentaries introduce their treatise by asking a set of fully established questions that are commonly asked in almost all exegetical works, i.e., the general exegetical tradition determines how a particular exegetical tradition surveys its text---Chapter 4 thus examines the exegetical re-presentation of the authorial from the perspective of the introductory inquiries in the writing of commentary.
