Intracellular Dynamics of Hydrogen Peroxide in Escherichia Coli
Abstract
dc:descriptionSurprisingly, additional experiments utilizing these scavenger-less mutants confirmed that the majority of endogenous H2O2 does not appear to be a result of the electron transport chain. However, these results did confirm that specific flavoenzymes, shown in vitro to make H 2O2, can autoxidize and adventitiously contribute to cytosolic H2O2 formation in vivo. However, the most substantial H2O2 generator remains unidentified.
