dc:description"The demolition can be seen as a moment of weakening, but not rupture, of the liberal-secular consensus in the nation. The continuing strength of the hegemony built around secularism has forced even those on the Hindu right to position themselves as the ""true"" secularists in order to retain legitimacy. A new consensus can be said to be building around ""secular-cultural nationalism"" rather than a rabid Hindutva ideology."
