Focus of Attention and Saliency of Bound Morphology in Sentence-Level Input Processing
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe analyses performed on the form scores revealed that learners performed significantly better when attention was directed to form only. Likewise, learners performed significantly better with the salient form when attention was directed to form only, and also when attention was simultaneously directed to meaning and to form. Moreover, the significant interaction obtained indicated that when simultaneously attending to meaning and to form, non-salient forms are much more difficult to perceive in the input than salient forms.
