dc:descriptionThis comprehensive study focuses on the female essayistic production in newspapers and literary journals of nineteenth-century Argentina and shows how female writers utilized certain periodicals like La Aljaba, La Camelia, La Educacion , El Album de Senoritas, La Ondina del Plata, and La Alborada del Plata as a primary forum through which they publicized their ideas and participated in the debate on the equality of the sexes and nation formation. This in-depth study demonstrates the invaluable female contribution to the redefinition of women's role in the building of the Argentine nation.
