Sensing and Control for Real-Time Machine Vision-Based Selective Herbicide Application Under Outdoor Field Conditions

dc:description"A controller was developed based on the concept of system events being controlled based on the distance traveled by sprayer vehicle a way of directing the herbicide onto the weeds when they are sensed by the sensing system. A design methodology for this ""real-distance"" control was developed and the system was tested under controlled outdoor field conditions. It exhibited a 91 percent hit accuracy with no evidence of significant difference across travel velocity levels."
