Abstract
dc:descriptionPrincipal suggestions for designers of multicultural curricular materials are that they (1) reconsider the definition of authenticity, since music changes within a culture; (2) include adequate contextual information and appropriate illustrations or photos; (3) develop lesson plans that respect unique cultural values; and (4) emphasize the involvement of scholars who have profound knowledge of a particular culture throughout the process of developing curricular materials.
