Institutional Constraints and Bolivian Agrarian Development During the Pre-Agrarian Reform and Post-Agrarian Reform Periods
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe examination of the political economy of the land redistribution according to the agrarian reform law shows that the insecurity and restrictive nature of land tenure defined in the agrarian reform law led to reduced capital investments, extensive land use and poverty. Less restrictive property rights may be the solution to economic stagnation in the rural sector.
