Regulation of Energy Metabolism by Fructose in the Liver

In conclusion, fructose feeding induced a broader range of genes than previously identified with simultaneous increase in glycogen and triglycerides in liver. SREBP-1 and ChREBP, and possibly FoxO1, likely mediate gene induction by dietary fructose. The study also suggests that further ChREBP activation occurs in the nucleus after nuclear translocation of ChREBP in F-fed rat.
