Evidence of Entrepreneurial Resources: Firm Founder Effects on the Performance, Governance, and Product Level of the Firm at Initial Public Offering

Abstract

dc:description

This research concluded that (1) there is a wide variety of firm types presenting themselves for initial public offering in the U.S.; (2) research to date on IPO's in both the Finance and organizational literature has not adequately addressed this variance; (3) founders are involved in the top management of firms at IPO in various roles (employee and board of directors) with varying equity positions; and (4) evidence for the influence of founders in top management at IPO on important performance and governance variables was collected while holding important firm, industry, and macro-environmental variables constant.
