Microseparation Strategies for the Assay of Neuronal Samples

The HPLC research presented here represents our first attempt to use microbore HPLC in the analysis of peptides from an identified cluster of neurons. It involves downscaling HPLC to work with smaller samples to follow the biochemistry of the neurons. Results described here are the culmination of HPLC, matrix assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) time-of-flight mass spectrometry, and molecular biology techniques to quantify and characterize the novel peptides.
