Random Sphere Packing Model of Heterogeneous Propellants

In addition, a method of analysis of the morphology of heterogeneous propellants is developed which uses the concept of multi-point correlation functions. A set of intrinsic length scales of local density fluctuations in random heterogeneous propellants is identified by performing a Monte-Carlo study of the correlation functions. This method of analysis shows great promise for understanding the origins of the combustion instability of heterogeneous propellants, and is believed to become a valuable tool for the development of safe and reliable rocket engines.
