Tillage Effects on Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration: Carbon Inputs and Physical Protection

Aggregation and SOC measures were used to develop a model to simulate the effects of residue placement and physical protection by aggregates on C sequestration. Simulated results were compared against actual C contents; both showed that after a decade of NT practice adoption, C input patterns and soil aggregation could explain SOC contents that were increased at the surface and decreased in the subsurface depth of the NT soil.
