Modeling of Electromagnetic and Elastic Wave Fields in Complex Geophysical Sensing Environments
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe last topic of the thesis deals with the modeling of a radio frequency antenna used for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) logging. A 3D finite-difference formulation is presented based on the second-order partial differential vector wave equation of the magnetic fields in the frequency domain. The new code can be used to model very complex geometries with high medium contrast. Interesting simulation results are obtained for the NMR antenna.
