Laterally Current-Injected Membrane Photonic Crystal Emitters
Abstract
dc:descriptionSpontaneous electroluminescent emission modified by the photonic crystal is demonstrated. Details of the design, fabrication, and characterization required to create the laterally injected photonic crystal emitter are presented. It is found that photonic crystals offer a wide design space for optimizing their optical, electrical and thermal properties, necessary steps in achieving the best performance in these devices.
