Pairing and Superfluid Properties of Polarized Dilute Fermion Gases in the Bcs-Bec Crossover
Abstract
dc:descriptionWe then consider systems in which the pairing species have different chemical potentials, imposed in our case, with different number densities, leading to a finite 'polarization'. This is of much experimental and theoretical interest due to the number of exotic ground states that have been proposed, and the possibility of a complex phase diagram, in the space of the control variables of polarization, interaction strength, and temperature. We study the polarized system with the R-PIMC method, calculating the energy, superfluid density, and structural properties, at several points in the space of the control variables. We then attempt to identify the phase diagram of this system, and to characterize the phases.
