The Inclusion and Exclusion of Students With Disabilities in State and National Testing Programs: A Policy Study With a Focus on Illinois
Abstract
dc:descriptionTo examine the extent to which state-mandated student testing programs have included students with disabilities, this study takes an in-depth look at the state of Illinois, beginning with the 1985 reform legislation and the Illinois Goal Assessment Program (IGAP). The study concluded with recommendations for a future course of action in Illinois that takes into account recent federal legislation, the 1997 Reauthorization of the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (Pub. L. 105-17).
