Patterns of Participation in Extracurricular Activities in a Neighborhood Urban School
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe results of the responses to the supplemental findings showed that 100% of the parents and teachers participated in extracurricular activities; while in secondary school, 80% of the parents stated that their children participated in extracurricular activities compared to 92% of the children of teachers. While 53% of the parents would be willing to support extracurricular activities financially, 19% of the teachers would be willing to do so. Excerpts from the parents and teachers overwhelmingly supported the findings that extracurricular activities had a positive effect on students while in school.
