Native Americans in Picture Books Recommended for Early Childhood Classrooms, 1945--1999
Abstract
dc:descriptionOverall, 17 of the 75 books in the sample contained accurate information about Native Americans. The other 58 were problematic. Based on the findings, recommendations for early childhood teacher education programs and the field of children's literature are presented.
