Interoperable Multimodal Travel Guide System: Modeling and Implementation. A Canonical Model Approach
Abstract
dc:descriptionThis study lastly demonstrates how the MTGS UML application schemas can be successfully implemented as platform neutral encodings, i.e., ISO 19136 - Geography Markup Language (GML), for interoperable information exchanges by way of creating the standardized interfaces between the MTGS and its participating systems (information sources) as well as between the MTGS and its clients. This study confirms not only the feasibility of the proposed canonical model approach but also its effectiveness compared to the existing approaches to information integration in light of the adaptability and reusability of the standardized conceptual models for specific domains.
