Photophysics of Rare Earth Chelates Under High Pressure
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe pressure dependence of luminescence intensities, energies, and decay times of several tris rare earth betadiketonates has been investigated in crystalline and plastic media over the pressure range of 0-120 kilobars. Temperature studies were also conducted from 110 to 300 K. The optical properties of Eu dibenzoylmethide and Eu thenoyltrifluoroacetylacetonate were examined in great detail. The model developed from these cases successfully explains the results for other Eu chelates and some Sm and Tb complexes.
