CAST: Computer Assisted Sequential Transcription
Abstract
dc:descriptionCAST (Computer Assisted Sequential Transcription) is a MIDI-compatible program which realizes in music a stream of elements (for example, alphanumeric characters). It does so according to user-defined musical parameter assignments made to the elements in the stream. In other words, it translates text into music, according to the user's definitions. Each character of a text may be used to define one or more musical parameters, such as pitch, duration, voice change, or amplitude.
