A Work Package-Based Process Model for Petrochemical Construction Planning
Abstract
dc:descriptionThis study examines the planning and control of petrochemical plant construction projects and the impact of work packaging on planning. This study was accomplished primarily through interviews with various levels of people in the business of building petrochemical plants. This study indicated that work packages currently used are often less detailed than desired by the field personnel. A review of the literature on project management and work packaging also indicated that some of the project delays and cost overruns may be attributed to the lack of detailed levels of work packaging.
